Olympic Station, located just North of Kowloon Station, was named in memory of the Olympic Athletes of Hong Kong when the Tung Chung and Air Port Expressway MTR stations were completed in Tai Kok Tsui. Along with the completion of the expressway, development in this area bloomed. Taking advantage of the waterfront location, new high end residential buildings came underway, in par with the Kowloon Station developments such as the Arch, Sorrento and The Harborview. Much of the area is locked in history, with many of the streets lined with street side eateries, aging retailers and old apartment buildings. Along the main transportation route to the Airport, signs of continued progress is witnessed with much construction.

Olympic station is located right on the Tung Chung and Air Port Expressway MTR lines which connect the area to Central in 10 minutes and the Airport in less than 20 minutes. Many of the major developments in the area are within walking distance to the station. Naturally, many buses and minibuses which terminate or go through the area also make major destinations in Hong Kong a part of their route.
