The area is also under the new development scheme of the Hong Kong Government. The name Tsueng Kwan O is also referred to as Junk Bay and is located in south eastern New Territories. At the northern tip of the bay lies the Tsueng Kwan O village which is about 600 years old and used to be occupied by several fishing villages and towns. The development of the New Town took place on reclaimed land and encompasses Sai Kung district in south eastern New Territories.

The area is serviced by the Tsueng Kwan O MTR line with 4 stations: Po Lam, Hang Hau, Tsueng Kwan O and Tiu Keng Leung stations. About 80% of the population lives within 5 minutes of an MTR stations with huge residential complexes surrounding the MTR stations. Other major roads that channel the area are the Tsueng Kwan O tunnel connecting to Kwun Tong, Po Lan Rd. connecting to Kwun Tong, Hang Hau Rd connecting Sai Kung and Clearwater Bay and Wan Po Rd. connecting Tseung Kwan o industrial Estate.
